One night on Velora
Tavi has heard the story all their life. Three moons will cross the sun, turn bright iridescent pearl and begin to radiate light and energy. The city will gather beneath them. A voice will rise from the Kalsa, the gate will open, and the people of Velora will become light.
They know the words. What they don't know is where they belong. They've spent a long time feeling lost, looking for people with whom they can be fully themselves. They've heard the calling of light, and it has brought them here.
Kontakt follows Tavi through their first Ormara, the tri-moon eclipse the Velori call the Conjunction. Eighteen tracks carry one gathering from its first low pulse through totality and back into the quiet of an ordinary night. Tavi comes looking for their tribe. Through the people they meet, they begin to find a chosen family. Going home will mean learning that this connection can stay with them after everyone has parted.

A voice.
Cut in crystal.
Letters live in a hexagonal cell. Six edges, three diagonals and a centre dot give the Velori a way to write the sounds of their world. Try a letter. Follow its light.

One cell.
Twenty-two letters.

The five vowels carry a centre dot. Consonants leave the centre open. The apostrophe is a dot on its own.

Come.
The numbers
A world that
counts in sixes.
Velora is cut in crystal, so its people count the way their world is cut. Each digit lights up another edge of the hexagon. At six, the count carries into the next cell.
The small mark beneath each cell tells you it’s a number, not a letter. An empty cell is zero.
18 = 306
3 sixes + 0 ones
Try a number from 0 to 1295, or start with one from the album.
Three sixes of music. Four sixes in a day. Both are round numbers here.
